C. Frederickson:
I consider myself a global citizen since I have worked in and
traveled to

countries.
Editor: Tell us your latest news?
C. Frederickson:
As an Expert Advisor to the Thai Ministry of Education, the
curriculum
reform package (interactive CD-ROMs/Workbooks) we cooperatively
developed will be pilot tested in the 5 Southernmost provinces
starting next
month, with hopes of going nation wide next year.
Editor: When and why did you begin writing?
C. Frederickson:
My gut instincts have always been tickled by the Muses.
Editor: When did you first consider yourself a poet?
C. Frederickson:
My first priority is helping and touching others with the images and
impressions of my people-oriented travel adventures.
Editor: Who or what has influenced your writing?
C. Frederickson: I
try to write one poem and draw one picture each day, and then a few
weeks later, I edit
and revise my work and only started submitting it to share with
others about 4
years ago.
Editor: How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?
C. Frederickson: Southeast Asia is my favorite part of the world and
the Thai culture and
friendly open-hearted people (especially
the always smiling children) inspire me
greatly.
Editor: Do you have a specific writing style?
C. Frederickson: I
have adapted traditional Thai poetic style into 5 line 20 word
stanzas
and that works for
me, eliminating punctuation to enhance the flow.
Editor: How did you come up with the title?
C. Frederickson:
Each poem generates its own unique title.
Editor: Is there a message in your poetry that you want readers to
grasp?
C. Frederickson:
Enjoy!
Editor: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in
your own life?
C. Frederickson:
Since the tsunami, I have devoted my life to child-centered
volunteer
service in
the education sector, with a strong emphasis on eco-disaster
responses.
Editor: What poets have influenced your writing?
C. Frederickson:
E. E. Cummings, Robert Frost and Billy Collins are my faves.
Editor: If you had to choose, which poet would you consider a
mentor?
C. Frederickson:
Every visionary contemporary poet who dares to experiment and be
different.
Editor: Are there any new poets that have grasped your interest?
C. Frederickson:
Many!
Editor: What are your current projects?
C. Frederickson: The PoeArtry column which I create along
with my fabulous coloraturist
Saknarin Chinayote appears 3 times a week on
ListenandBeHeard.net and political-
oriented PoeArtry appears regularly at NewVerseNews.com
Editor: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of
family members
C. Frederickson: The editors who have chosen to feature my work.
Editor: Do you see writing as a career?
C. Frederickson: I consider myself first and foremost an
International Educator, but need
the
stimulation of like-minded others in the Arts.
Editor: Do you recall how your interest in poetry originated?
C. Frederickson: Life is like a parachute; it works better when
open, and my flexibility
and broad
areas of interest have been the key to a most fulfilling and happy
existence.

What
do you see as the influences on your writing?
C. Frederickson:
Heart, soul and mind evolving as a balanced anima entity
Editor: Can you
share a little of your current work with us?
C. Frederickson: I'm having great fun editing quarterly cosmo-zine
AVANTGARDETIMES. COM and welcome submissions.
Editor: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your
writing?
C. Frederickson:
I usually work from 2:00 to 4:00 a.m. when the creative juices can
be
tapped most
alertly and flow most readily.
Editor:
Do you have any advice for other poets?
C. Frederickson: Be true to yourself and dare to be different!
Editor: What advice can you offer poets just emerging?
C. Frederickson:
Listen to your inner voices, go with your instincts and just do it!
Editor: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your
readers?
C. Frederickson:
