Beach Sinners

Sandy beaches
bring you back

Like the day
we took water

To rinse off salt
of ocean dipping

Pouring it slowly
over our heads

Several persons
stopped to watch

Before leaving
a woman asked

If wetting heads
is a religious rite

You said no but
salt is itchy evil

 
             Integrity

'Honor' 'Truthfulness' 'Reliability'

- three defining words of "integrity"

leave no doubt about what we expect

from an individual with such a quality

Sadly we see its tarnishing begin in

careless gossip and convenient lying

with no regard to personal reputation

the absolute in friendship and family

Keeping one's word is still a must

the holding of secrets a sacred trust

leaving us to wonder how to regain

love and closeness rewarding integrity

Moments On A Morning

A friendly good morning from 
two strangers during my walk

Bird songs are a wake-up call 
to an aria by a solo performer 

Looking up past green leaves
a jet plane's airy vapor trail

Missing each other hurrying  
students and I flow around

A milk man gives a musical
hello clinking glass bottles

An Olympian dasher passes
me in time to snag a bus ride

Between houses subtle colors
from hung out imported rugs 

My walk is a bit of dancing on
a fresh and cheerful morning

Passersby catch the spirit in 
tingly moments of electric joy
