Silence

Can you hear the silence
As you stroll beneath the stars;
Or on a busy highway
With the noise of all the cars.

Do you think about the stillness
when you look upon a tree,
And see how rooted to the earth
The tree appears to be.

Can you feel the silence
In the early morning light;
In the magic of the sunrise,
Before the sun is bright.

Do you pause and take a moment
In a life that's like a race,
To look beneath the stillness
To search for inner peace

The Avid Gardener

Every avid gardener

at the very first signs of spring,

Can be seen out in the garden

checking out everything.

In the soggy mounds of soil,

they tread about carefully,

looking for new signs of life

under every leaf and tree.
