Gili Haimovich, Poet— Toronto, ON

Gili is a poet, visual artist and expressive arts therapist. Her writing has been published internationally in journals and anthologies. She is the author of three poetry volumes in Israel. Recently she published her firs collection of English poems entitled Living on a Blank Page.

Spell

I am the little mermaid from Anderson's fairytale.

My tongue is stepping on my teeth,

That are sharp as razors.

I cannot refuse this temptation,

I must reach the shore,

Knowing already that it won't be a haven of rest.

Meanwhile,

Humming heavily to the revealed dry land, "I'll put a spell on you…,"

I use the spell check button as a painkiller.
