What if?
By Ann Turinayo, Kampala, Uganda
The path long and winding,
So filled with obstacles, you hit your toes every step
The hope of finding
Treasure at the end of the tunnel
Fading
At the reality of the trail
What if,
Battered, bruised and broken
The desire for relief
Respite for the moment,
Wouldn’t you ask yourself?
What if?

In the name of help
By Ann Turinayo, Kampala
I lost my way in a strange land
I met a stranger who offered to help
His words? Pure Kindness
His voice? Gentleness
His attitude? Compassion
So I opened up – for every closed flower will open to the
slightest hint of sunlight
And I offered my luggage, to be helped
I offered my hand to be guided
I followed, all trust.
I was led, yes. Further away from the destination I was
headed.
I only realized….too late. |
