The Dog I Saw Today

There  was  this  black and  white  furry  dog
With  a  curling  tail
Walking  past  me  today
But  I  could  not  tell  if  it  was  malamute  or  husky
I  even  noticed  it  had  a  black  mask  on  it's  face
But  not  the  kind  you  wear
And  if  you  had  seen  it  walking  past
You  would  know  what  I  mean
But  this  dog  was  a  rare  breed  indeed
A  beautiful dog
You  don't  see  everyday
With  a  collar  around  it's  neck
Trying  to  pull  it's  owner  with  it
Like  it  wants  to  run  wild  and  free
Like  a  wolf  in  it's  dream
Chasing  other  dogs  I  saw  today
I  was  in  such  a  daze  when  I  saw  it  that  I  wanted  to  stroke  it
But  no  luck  it  just  passed  me  by
Then  I  looked  back  at  it
Because  it  wasn't  standing  on  all  paws
It  was  standing  and  walking  like  a  normal  human  being
Like  it  was  waving  at  me
Wearing  boots  on  it's  feet
And  gloves  on  it's  paws
Maybe  I  was  just  day  dreaming
About  the  dog  I  saw  today.
