While I read to you

our love poetry tonight

snuggle beside me.

          Seeing You

It may be the newness of you that
brings a joy to my heart and
a light in both eyes while
I treasure watching
you sit with
someone
vibrant
and
talking
with them
puts a smile
on your beautiful
and friendly features
telling all that you bring
happiness to those near you

                Dominion

It never occurred to her that
others viewed her as a queen
Unspoken and not admitted
were privately held opinions
Self assessment only a waste
somewhat egotistic or worse
A quiet and knowing demeanor
carried her through a good life
Being of honor without citation
propelled others to defer
In school career and family
her lofty persona captured many
For over seven decades she was
never heard to belittle faults
Her domain was where she stood
in person or on known issues
Elizabeth II and she could
have been friends perhaps
assuming that each was
moved to know another with
a royal aura and exalted goals
