Summer's Commin'

 

Three o'clock bell tolls the end

leading to summer's endless days.

Follow the squeals and sun-browned limbs

of friends who know the way

to summer's fun,

the pool

the slides

the lake

next door neighbor’s bar-b-que

baseball games

a date or two

leaves begin to fall.

Summer's days are shorter now

Autumn is on the way.

We won't forget those endless days

when memories were made

and until the next bell tolls the end

and summer comes our way.

On the breath of Angels,

light as air they fly

as free spirits they glide

fluttering here and there

leaving behind their beauty

where chance has let them light.
