Don Osborne — Poet, Windham ME
|
|
Don
began writing poetry when he was a teenager. He likes to write about
life's struggles and about things that people feel and love. He
feels there is better way to explain how you feel than in a great
poem. |

Love has been Lost
Sometimes I think love has been lost. The world has changed
ever so much. Hatred has stretched across the globe like a raging
plague. Hearts have been shattered into a thousand pieces. Every
block of every street seems to have its own story.
Children's faces have become long, from the lack of trust, security
and most importantly love. Guns are now in the hands of our youth.
Hatred has entwined itself in their minds and souls have been
scorned.
Road rage has swallowed up the streets, patience has been lost.
Marriages
have been broken and homes have been shaken.
A fast pace tornado ripping through every household, leaving behind
only
destruction. Is it that far gone, are we on the road to no return.
Taking back
what is good and right one face at a time. A simple hello, a kind
thank you,
can go such a long way.
A child waiting for a hug, a grandparent waiting for that one visit.
A wife
waiting for just a simple kiss. Sometimes I think love has been
lost. Yet love
does not falter, love will just not pick up and disappear. It is
deep rooted
within all of us just waiting to come out and blossom once again.
Make
the difference, make the change, love is just behind your door,
receive it
and welcome it with open arms.
