A Floating Leaf
A floating leaf
falling
from a sparrow's breeze,
teasing
the calling of
ages past,
to fall
the essence of light
from cotton clouds,
asking for
a trumpet's blast.
Fate lingers
flying feathered blue birds
and butterfly sails the wind
into naked time,
ravaged wings spread
floating dead
in the gust
of gray matter
hopping from the ground,
and from a tree
this leaf will fall,
as the parade
gathers roses,
and flowers bloom till death.
Life is here
for a moment's passing,
caressing the wind
to ride the rails of time,
and the leaf
is the art of making life,
gently floating
towards the ground,
joining others
that have fallen
from the past,
and making Autumn
the God
of the sky.
