 LOSING YOUR TOUCH

the nerve endings severed
a layer of reality
shaved off and buried

behind this mirror of appearances
where everything is a reflection
of itself
a dimension lost
in every image
shapes and sizes gone
no depth in each background

a resonance missing
in every moment
a sound without vibration

and your shadow stretched long
leaned against the night
its feet disconnected
from the body that is supposed to
anchor it to reality

ELATION

Feet so light
they can stroll on air,
ride the wind
into an eternity
of blue sky.

Eyes so open
they discover new shades
between mundane colours.

Heart so young
it sings a song
the rational mind
will never know the lyrics to.
