Readers Feedback:
I like what I've been reading in the Stellar
Showcase. I particularly like the poem by Wency
Rosales, and I'm inclined to go looking for his book. I found his
simple and direct voice there not unlike that of one of his
countrymen, Jose Marti, in his personal poems.

THERE ARE TIMES
by Wency Rosales
Some times during the cloudy nights
I feel that I need you.
Sometimes during the rainy days,
I daydream about those special moments
We spend together,
Sometimes during the hot summer days,
I feel the sharp brightness of your eyes,
Sometimes during the cold sunrises
My feelings drawn in the silence
Of my salty tears,
Sometimes during the warm sunsets,
I feel I need to hear your soft voice,
And feel your tender hands,
There are times and I don't know why,
I feel I really miss you.

Hay Veces
A veces
Y sentir tus tiernas manos,
Hay veces que no se por que,
Siento que en realidad te extraño.

In the year 2008
by Wency Rosales
Several members of the Cuba Canada Literary Alliance,
suffered the loss of friends and dear ones, it is the honest
desire that this poem be to encourage all our friends
and families
Sometimes we think that we are ready for everything,
Including death,
sometimes we think that a person that lies in a bed,
suffering an incurable illness should rest
once and for all.
And we don't realize that we are so vulnerable,
That in fact it hurts us, that in fact
we fear that their soul leave forever.
the sympathies and the most sincere condolences are not enough.
We should live with the sadness of the heart,
And the heart is so fragile that it never cures the wounds,
Because it leaves deep traces, as fossil in stone.
And when it happens, when we face the hard truth,
It wraps us a feeling of anguish and impotence,
Of not being able to make anything except saying a prayer,
So that they know that our love and our spirit are with them.
difficult moments, memories of some dear ones,
Where we have also been witness of pain and tears.
The words that can be expressed get loosen with the sob,
And there is just the thought,
the desire that God,
give them the blessing of his comfort in this departure minute. |
