           Christmas in Maine

 

Swing your sensual

body toward me.

Fill my memory

with the perfume

of your heady countryside.

Where red lobsters

troop single file

and cod up their hi-jinks

as far as Mount Katahdin,

I pinch to pickpocket

from your wintergreen dreams

a bit of tourmaline honey

as moon faced as blueberries

and just as juicy.
