Vicki SamsonPoet, Pickering, Ontario

Vicki Samson began writing poetry
approximately 12 years ago. As a unique gift for friends she writes poems that
capture their personalities and/or special events, while she also writes personalized poems for other people based on information she is given about their personalities and traits.  She is a lover of business writing, and proofing and editing and presently runs a home-based personal assistant/concierge business.

                        The Rose

Oh beauteous rose
of fragrant scent.
How proudly you pose
on your stem of thorns
as you slowly awaken
to burst forth your potential.
A paradox of love and pain
emanating from one majestic bloom.

                      Enshrined

Enshrined in a tomb
Protected and safe.
Here forever.
No turning back.
Blessed are our souls
As the chorus chants
Of reverence and life everlasting,
Resurrection or reincarnation.
Drifting into a realm of unknown
with endless possibilities
To learn the next lesson of what is
As we bid farewell to what was.
