Amy Mackiewicz—Poet, Blenheim, New Zealand

Moved to Marlborough 5 years ago and have never looked back. Blenheim is a beautiful place to live with inspiration everywhere. I hope, one day, to share my art and writing with the world.

         NATURES GLORY

Such secrets nature does possess,
soft music sways within the breeze,
sweet-sounding tunes the birds do sing,
while the leaves gently hiss and tease.

Blossoming flowers awaken,
such secrets nature does possess,
petals dance in the winds embrace,
shy buds hide with graceful success.

Guarding the forest, trees stand firm,
with their tops shyly unseen,
such secrets nature does possess,
still sits the wind, all rests serene.

Nature is but art unknown,
with beauties touch, a fond caress,
fables lie hidden deep within,
such secrets nature does possess.

        WINTER FALLS

Look upward as winter falls,
drifting delicately from atop,
watch the crystals tumble and play,
slowly mind them drop.
With each flutter of wind,
tiny crystals change their guise,
harmonizing with the wind,
they tumble from the skies.
So delicate they move and dance,
they daintily float around,
holding all attention while
descending to the ground.
Merging with the earth,
a blanket soft and pure,
binding to the branches,
such an eyeful to endure.
Look upward as winter falls,
drifting delicately into sight,
the smallest things hold beauty,
great wonders and delight.
