Renée is a professional literary translator, specialized in poetry.
Born in Edmonton/Canada, she studied at the University of
Vienna/Austria. Her translations include prose and poetry by many
noteworthy Austrian and Canadian authors, as well as dramatic works,
films and scholarly books. She has taught English, works as an
editor, and writes her own poetry and short stories, which she reads
in public on regular occasion. Her poems have been published in
"Ellipse," along with French translations of them by noted poet
Robert Paquin. Her poetry translations in "The Vienna Group" were
distinguished as one of the 12 best Austrian books in 1999. Renée
travels widely, otherwise dividing her time between Vienna/Austria
