Negligence ascending,

my eyes perceive an image,

lying prostrate, callousness complied.

The flutter of a wing,

fashioned eyes to passing storms.
 

Soft embrace,

etched trails through November's oak.

A poet's truth,

held accountable of the lies we convince ourselves.

of heroic cowardice.
